Weldolet
Weldolet is a common pipe fitting used for branch connection in pipeline systems. It is usually used to directly weld branch pipes on the main pipeline without additional holes or flange connections.
Size Range
Branch pipe size range (NPS)
½" ~ 24"
Main pipe size range (NPS)
2" ~ 48"
Standard
(1) ASME Standard
ASME B16.9
Applies to the dimensions, tolerances and markings of butt-welded pipe branches such as Weldolet and Latrolet. Covered size range: NPS ½"~48" (DN15~DN1200).
ASME B16.11
Applies to pipe branches such as Sockolet (socket welding) and Threadolet (threaded). Pressure rating: 3000psi, 6000psi, etc.
ASME B31.1/B31.3
Specifies the reinforcement calculation, welding process and inspection requirements for branch pipe connections.
ASME Section VIII
Involves the application of pipe branches on pressure vessels (such as opening reinforcement design).
(2) MSS SP-97
Integrates the requirements of ASME B16.9/B16.11 and supplements the strength test and surface treatment standards for pipe branches.
Types
Weldolet: Butt-weld branch pipe, suitable for high-pressure and high-temperature systems.
Sockolet: Socket-weld branch pipe, used for small-diameter pipes.
Threadolet: Threaded branch pipe.
Application
Petrochemical industry: high temperature and high pressure pipeline system.
Power industry: steam pipeline branch.
Shipbuilding and nuclear power: pipeline system with high integrity requirements.
