Tee

Tee is a common pipe connector, mainly used for diverting or converging fluids (liquids or gases), and plays the role of branching, turning or multi-directional connection in the pipeline system.

Size Range

Small-diameter tee
DN/DN15~DN50 (1/2"~2")

Medium-diameter tee
DN65~DN200 (2.5"~8")

Large-diameter tee
DN250~DN1200 (10"~48")

Extra-large-diameter tee
DN1200 and above (48" and above)

Standard

ASME B16.9
Application: Factory-made forged steel butt-weld pipe fittings (including tees).
Size range: NPS ½"~48" (DN15~DN1200).
Pressure level: Sch5s~Sch160 (different wall thicknesses available).
Material: Carbon steel (A234 WPB), stainless steel (A403 WP304/316), alloy steel, etc.

ASME B16.11
Application: Socket Weld and Threaded Tees.
Size range: NPS ½"~4" (DN15~DN100).
Pressure level: Class 2000~6000 (high pressure applications).

ASME B16.28
Application: Small radius elbows and tees (for compact spaces).

Types

Classification by structure
Equal diameter tee: The diameters of the three interfaces are the same (such as DN50×50×50).
Reducing diameter tee: The diameter of one interface is different from the other two (such as DN50×50×40), which is used to connect pipes of different diameters.
Oblique tee: The branch pipe is connected to the main pipe at an oblique angle (usually 45°) to reduce fluid resistance and is suitable for high-pressure or high-speed fluid systems.

Classification by connection method
Threaded tee: It is connected by thread and is commonly used for small-diameter low-pressure pipelines (such as household water pipes and gas pipelines).
Welded tee: It is fixed by welding and is suitable for high-pressure, high-temperature or large-diameter pipelines (such as petroleum and chemical pipelines).
Flanged tee: It is connected by flange bolts, which is easy to disassemble and repair (such as industrial pipeline systems).
Clamp tee: Quick connection, commonly used in fire protection pipelines or temporary pipelines.

Classification by use
Diverter tee: Distribute the fluid of the main pipeline to two branches.
Merge tee: Merge two fluids into one main pipeline.

Application

Water supply and drainage system: branching of building tap water and sewage pipes.
HVAC: heating, hot and cold water distribution.
Petrochemical: transportation of oil, gas, and chemical media.
Power industry: circulating water, cooling system.
Fire protection system: diversion of sprinkler pipes.
